Oswego High School senior Mackenzie Dunsmoor was selected by Assemblyman Will Barclay to represent Oswego County at the governor’s State of the State address.
Students at Kingsford Park Elementary School had an opportunity to celebrate the coming of the New Year one more time.
The Oswego High School Music Department has recognized three students as “Musicians of the Month” for January. Recognized for their outstanding talent and contributions were Jacqueline Hondro, Emilie Benigno and Thomas James.
Therefore, until further notice we are requesting no parking on any city streets and no unnecessary travel. This will aid city resources in clearing city streets. Also, the Oswego City School District is closed today.
The proposed spending plan for the 2011-12 school year is likely to cut some staff. However, the superintendent pointed out Wednesday night that there might be a “cushion” that allows for some cuts to be restored. The entire school board will debate the tentative budget at the Feb. 22 regular meeting.
It was senior night at the Oswego Middle School on Monday as the Baldwinsville Bees came to town to wrestle against the Bucs. Fayetteville-Manlius ruined the Oswego Bucs opportunity to capture a league title as the Hornets swept the boys 3-0 on the lanes while the girls captured two points to keep them alive for a berth in the sectionals.
Cole Richard Gerrety was born in Oswego Hospital on Feb. 7, 2011.
