Twelve-year-old Livia had lived in a Romanian orphanage for 10 years when she received a shoe box filled with hair clips, school supplies, hygiene items and small toys. That Operation Christmas Child gift and its message of hope and love changed her life.

Shanley Law Office Tops The Field At OOT Golf Tourney

The winning team of the first ever OOT golf tournament was Shanley Law Office. From left are members: P. Michael Shanley, John Salvador, Matt Salvador and Greg Furlong.

The top three teams in the first ever golf tournament of the Oswego Opera Tournament, held at Tamarack Golf Club in Oswego on Aug. 19, were separated by just two points.

Old Fashioned Fort Fest Planned

FortFest will be held on Saturday at the historic grounds around old Fort Ontario. There is plenty of room for crafters, artists, kite fliers, food vendors, children’s activities and picnicking around and inside the old fort.

Join crafters, artists, artisans, kite fliers, and others for FortFest at Fort Ontario State Historic Site on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission to the festival which will be held on the grounds outside the old fort is free.

OCO’s Bresee Receives Certification As Community Action Professional

Eric Bresee, director of Crisis and Development Services for Oswego County Opportunities, recently received accreditation as a Certified Community Action Professional from the Community Action Partnership during a ceremony held in San Francisco, Calif.

To achieve accreditation as a Certified Community Action Professional Bresee underwent a two-year process that included documentation of professional achievements and extensive studying in preparation for the certification exam.
