On Saturday, a boat launching from Dutchman’s Landing in Baldwinsville carried some very special passengers along the Erie Canal for a luncheon and boat cruise. The Thank a Service Member organization, of Oswego hosted an event for current and past service members to be recognized for their service and to enjoy a relaxing cruise on the Emita II.
The facility in Fort Ontario Park is in need of repairs. Members of the groups housed in the site are concerned about safety and told the council so Monday night. Earlier this spring, a young girl was injured on the steps at the site.

Roberta A. Bailey, 75, of Fulton, died Sunday June 10, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.
Anthony O. Iosue, 94, of Oswego, died Tuesday June 12, 2012, in Oswego Hospital after a short illness.
