Eagles Fan Club Kids Bike Giveaway Continues Weekly at Oswego Speedway
All kids have to do to sign up on race night is stop down to the Eagles Fan Club booth below the main grandstand, across from the Speedway Tiki Bar, and enter their name into the weekly drawing. One lucky young race fan’s name will be drawn every Saturday night at Oswego Speedway and will be announced each week during the track intermission.
Church Yard Sale Set Today and June 1
The First United Methodist Church of Fulton, 1408 State Route 176, across from the junior high school, will hold a yard sale today and Saturday. The hours will be: May 31 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and June 1 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church History Day Planned
Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church will dedicate its newly restored sanctuary and fellowship hall during its 11 a.m. service on June 9. There will be no 8:30 service. Following the service, the church History Committee will host a display of pictures, memorabilia and books on the history of the church from its founding in 1870 to present.
Winner of Larry Mitchelson Fine Art Scholarship announced
This year’s Larry Mitchelson Fine Arts Scholarship recipient is Mariah Munger. Munger is a senior at G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton and will receive a $1,000 scholarship towards her education at the State University of New York New Paltz.
FOR Club’s kindness helps four-legged friends at local animal shelter
The Fulton Junior High School’s Friends of Rachel (FOR) club recently collected much-needed items for the Oswego County SPCA and their four-legged friends. Some of the members are pictured here with the donations that included kitty litter, food, toys, blankets and other supplies for dogs and cats at the local animal shelter.

John C. “Pug” Sixberry Sr., 62, of Mexico, passed away Wednesday May 29, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Maffei Announces Large Grant Award For Area Fire Departments
The departments’ reps said the grants will be used to purchase 121 new Self Contained Breathing Apparatuses. The congressman credited the professionals in the local departments for helping to secure the much-needed funding.
