Luella Laney and her son, Tom, recently took the train down to NYC from Albany to see the play that Bill Laney is in and it is excellent. Luella was worried she’d be nervous for him but the play was so spellbinding that she didn’t get worried at all. It has been moved to an off Broadway theater, The Soho, because it could accommodate a larger audience.

One of the most popular day tours in Korea is to the DMZ and Panmunjom. With all the news about the 29-year-old North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, I was curious to see if tours to the border area between North and South Korea were still possible. The two-mile wide DMZ runs about 160 miles along the 38th parallel cutting the Korean Peninsula in half dividing Korea into two.

Fire Damages Oswego Home

UPDATE:  No injuries were reported however the single family residence sustained heavy fire, water and smoke damage. At 1:17 a.m. May 11 the Oswego Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 215 Duer St. on the east side of the city. About 15 minutes into the incident all interior crews were pulled from the structure due to deteriorating conditions.

Concinnity in Public Concert at Minetto UMC

The select women’s vocal ensemble called, Concinnity, will offer a concert to the public on May 19, at 3:30 p.m., at the Minetto United Methodist Church. The concert, Weather or Not: A Musical Meteorological Matinee, will invite a freewill offering to be used toward the church’s capital campaign for maintenance projects.
