Community-Wide Support For Post Prom Party

The Oswego community has rallied around the effort to provide a safe and secure environment for those students attending the annual prom. Saturday night, the annual Oswego High School prom was scheduled and once again the SADD Club, advisors and community organizations and businesses have come together to promote the post prom party.

Stephen W. “Steve” Salvage, 59, of Gaskin Road, Clay, NY, passed away on Friday May 10, 2013, in University Hospital, Syracuse, NY, due to complications of pneumonia.

On May 14 at 6:30 p.m. learn how easy it is to compost! The program will be offered at the Fulton Public Library, 160 S. First St. Sandy Bonanno, consulting ecologist, will show the benefits and how easy it is to make your own rich soil.

Do You Have a Story About Fulton?

The Fulton Public Library is looking for people who have lived and/or worked in Fulton and have stories to tell about their experiences. The project, entitled “The Stories from Our Past that Inspire Our Future,” is being offered through a series of workshops. Local writer and teacher Jim Farfaglia will be leading the workshops.

Marion S. Anguish, 97, former resident of the Towers Apartments, Fulton, passed away Tuesday April 30, 2013, at Oswego Hospital after a brief stay at Morningside Residential Care Center.

SUNY Oswego May Commencement to re-air

SUNY Oswego’s May Commencement will have several rebroadcasts for those unable to attend the live ceremonies on May 18, or just interested in seeing it again. The live version streams from oswego.edu and on Channel 96 of Time Warner Cable around Oswego County and some adjacent communities.

Port City Roller Derby seeks new practice space

The community-based not-for-profit Oz Roller Girls Inc., which runs the league, ideally seeks a minimum 100- by 60-foot interior space for its practices, which currently take place four times per week for both an adult league and new juniors league for children ages 10 to 17.
