The Oswego State softball team (17-18) made history in two ways on Thursday morning after it defeated No. 1-seed Brockport (21-15) by the score of 9-0 in five innings. The Lakers not only became the first No. 6-seed to knock off the top seed in the State University of New York Athletic Conference Tournament, but they also recorded their first SUNYAC post-season win in the process.

Recently, two Oswego Middle School teachers have become immersed in the “Core Curriculum” through LearnZillion Inc. It is a social mission company committed to supporting the work of teachers and improving educational outcomes for all students. The web-based learning platform combines video lessons, assessments, and progress reporting. Each lesson highlights a “Common Core” standard, starting with math and English Language Arts in grades 3-9.

The H. Lee White Marine Museum and Maritime Center invites residents and visitors alike to join us as we kick off the 2013 summer season the weekend of May 18 and 19 from 1-5 p.m. As part of the celebration, the Maritime Center, which includes the main exhibit building, the National Historic Landmark World War II Tugboat “LT-5,” and NYS Derrick Boat No 8 will be open free of charge both days.
