Herkimer County Community College women’s track and field athlete Mary Lenhart of Hannibal, a Criminal Justice major has been named Region III Female Co- Athlete of the Week. She is a multi-event athlete and just won the Region III Regional Heptathlon and is ranked second in the National rankings for heptathlon, fourth in javelin, ninth in shot and 12th in the 100 hurdles.
The Fulton Music Association’s 16th Annual Celebration of Community Music featuring the Fulton Community Band and a variety of local talent will be presented on May 11, 7 p.m., at the G. Ray Bodley High School Auditorium, it was announced by Steve Chirello, FMA president.
The Leadership Oswego County’s Class of 2013 will be delivering special gift bags to area seniors. The group has been gathering things to help make life a little easier and more enjoyable for those residing in area senior sites. They have put together more than 530 bags.
The educational program will address symptoms associated with mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease, communication issues, providing personal care, behavior changes, medication management, home safety and other care options such as day programs or in-home care to better suit caregiver needs.
Thunderstorm season is coming up (although didn’t we just get done with the snow?) and this year I would like to be better prepared to deal with my dog Chipper’s anxiety during these storms. The Amelia Whelahan Award is given annually to a staff member who is easily identified as a true leader and who has made outstanding contributions to OCO and the Human Services profession and has participated in volunteer leadership activities that have helped improve the quality of life in Oswego County.
