This is the last of the series of projects in the Consent Decree that require completion by November 1, 2014, according to the city engineer. After this project, hopefully, the city can renegotiate the multi-million dollar decree, he added.

Dan Mahaney has announced his intention to seek another term as Highway Superintendent for the Town of Hannibal. Mahaney’s mission has been to improve upon the safety of the town’s 56 miles of highways, while staying within the limits of a strict budget during tough economic times and obtaining grants to help offset taxpayers’ expense.
Northern Oswego County Health Services, Inc.’s Mexico Health Center will be temporarily relocated to Oswego Health Center located at 10 George St., Oswego, starting on August 26. The primary care services of Mexico providers Thomas Hanna, MD and Lorraine Ladd Falanga, NP will be provided at the Oswego location for about six to eight week.

He highlighted the agreement between the Fulton YMCA, the Oswego YMCA and the YMCA of Greater Syracuse. Shared services and collaboration with additional opportunities for members will be key to the success of both Ys.
With Budweiser International Classic Weekend on the horizon, Oswego Speedway has set aside four designated test sessions for race teams beginning on Monday, August 26. The four hour sessions will run in the same fashion as the weekly Fast Friday tests that were held throughout the regular season.
Kurt Ospelt, the County Highway Superintendent, signs a contract for a sandpit with Jack Beckwith, a former County Legislator, without any of the other County Legislators knowing about it. They got their mining permit from NY DEC. The County then builds a road on Jack Beckwith’s property, which is private property, to get to the sandpit.
Edward R. Czirr, 92, a resident of Oswego, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning August 20, 2013, at the Manor at Seneca Hill surrounded by his family.
