Fred Beardsley – Hypocrisy at its worst.

On Wednesday 8/21, I was shocked and disgusted to read Fred Beardsley’s public comments in regards to the County Treasurer’s election court case. He said and I quote: “It`s obvious there was an effort to blatantly disregard the rules and laws regarding the filing of petitions.” To say that this is worse than the pot calling the kettle black would be an extreme understatement.

Jessica Zemken Set to Attempt Oswego International Classic 200

Jessica Zemken will climb back behind the wheel of a Supermodified on Labor Day weekend as she looks to become the first woman to qualify for the Budweiser International Classic 200 at Oswego Speedway.  (Mike Johnson Photo)Graham Racing announced this week their intentions to field a Novelis Supermodified entry for winged sprint car veteran Jessica Zemken in the 57th running of the Budweiser International Classic 200 at Oswego Speedway on Labor Day weekend. Zemken will join Sheila Hayes and Jennifer Chesbro as the only women to attempt to qualify for Supermodified racing’s most historical and largest paying event.

Performing arts series at SUNY Oswego to blend current, classic fare

The season opens Sept. 7 with two performances of the Cashore Marionettes.From bluegrass to the Bard, the 2013-14 Artswego Series at SUNY Oswego offers a diverse slate of artists and performing arts experiences to area audiences. “Whether tastes incline toward music or theatre, traditional or contemporary expressions, we’ve covered the bases,” series director John Shaffer said. “And we’ve held ticket costs far below levels seen at premiere venues around the country — big-city opportunities at small-town prices.”

Syracuse Crunch Hockey Aids CAC Blue Ribbon Ride

Brandon Wrobel, account executive with the Syracuse Crunch, presented Karrie Damm, executive director of the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County, with an official hockey stick signed by team members of the 2013 Calder Cup finalist Syracuse Crunch. It will be available as part of the drawings during the post Blue Ribbon Ride celebration.
