OHS Drama Club Sharpens Skills with Lizzie Borden Play
The Oswego High School Drama Club aims to set the record straight with the award-winning original play “Lizzie Borden Took an Axe,” written and directed by Fitzhugh Park music teacher Garrett Heater. The play recreates scenes leading up to and immediately after the 1892 double-murder of wealthy businessman Andrew Borden and his second wife, Abby Durfee Gray Borden.
Oneida County Man Arrested on Sex Abuse Charges
This investigation was conducted in conjunction with the State Police in Oswego County where the suspect is currently facing charges of Criminal Sex Act and Sexual abuse of three children.
College Student Facing Felony Drug Charge
SUNY Oswego University Police charged a student with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a Class D felony, Wednesday evening. Colin R. Sunday, 18, of Pratt Drive in Poughquag and 205 Johnson Hall on campus, is accused of selling Adderall pills to an undercover UP officer.
Oswego Council OKs Code Changes
The city is cracking down on the use of any upholstered furniture outside, storage of motor vehicles, recreational vehicles and utility and storage buildings among other things. And a public hearing regarding preparation of solid waste for collection is scheduled for later this month.
Songwriter Louise Mosrie To Perform at Oswego Music Hall
Nashville folk-americana songwriter Louise Mosrie will be performing at Oswego Music Hall on November 2. The doors open at 7:15 p.m. Performance will be at 8 p.m. Louise is a winner of numerous songwriting awards from folk festivals around the country such as Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in Hillsdale, NY, Kerrville Folk Festival in Kerrville, Texas and Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Telluride, Colo.
Catholic Charities to host Family Halloween Party
Several programs of Catholic Charities of Oswego County have joined to provide area youth and their families with some Halloween fun, as they host Catholic Charities’ annual Family Halloween Party on October 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Cancer Services Program Partners with SUNY Oswego to Make a Human Pink Ribbon
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Oswego County Opportunities’ Cancer Services Program Partnership has joined SUNY Oswego to assist them in their efforts to raise awareness of breast cancer in Oswego County and encourage faculty, staff and community members to receive the cancer screenings they need.
