Pulaski hosts blood drive to show it is a community that cares

Residents of Pulaski and the American Red Cross are joining together for a “Communities That Care” blood drive on December 24, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the American Legion at 3350 Maple Ave., Pulaski. A “Communities That Care” blood drive is a Red Cross initiative to engage local citizens and boost regional blood supplies by enlisting community support.

Festival of Lessons, Carols and Candlelight Planned

On Christmas Eve, First United Church, 33 S. Third St., will host ‘A Festival of Lessons, Carols and Candlelight.” The service will feature the reading of familiar Christmas scripture, the singing of traditional Christmas carols, the music ministry of the Chancel Choir and the United Voices Quartet and the lighting of candles at the close of the service.

War of 1812 Bicentennial Commemoration Continues in the Port City

A new interpretive panel of the U.S. Brig Oneida, part of the history-themed Great Lakes Seaway Trail Outdoor Storyteller sign series, was unveiled recently at the north end of Riverwalk West in West Linear Park. The location gives visitors the opportunity to envision this significant part of Oswego’s history in the War of 1812.
