Oswego County Children’s Fund to distribute Christmas Toys
There’s nothing quite like the look of a child’s face on Christmas morning as they discover their presents under the tree. It’s an experience that many remember for a lifetime. To ensure that that scene plays out in as many Oswego County homes as possible the Oswego County Children’s Fund has begun their annual drive to collect toys for less fortunate children in Oswego County.

Stop For A Happy Halloween
Oswego crossing guard Keri West got in the mood for Halloween as she dressed for her duty. With the inclement weather it probably helped motorists see her more clearly as she assisted Frederick Leighton Elementary School students.
November is National Runaway Prevention Month
During the month of November Oswego County Opportunities Crisis and Development Services holds an annual awareness campaign. The goal of this campaign is to raise community awareness of homelessness in our county and what it looks like.
Sheriff Schedules Public Auction
Oswego County Sheriff Reuel A. Todd has announced that a public auction of found, abandoned and surplus property will be held on November 14. Slated for sale at the auction are approximately 35 bicycles along with assorted other items including mailboxes, ATV tires, tools, chain saws, outdoor equipment (snowblower, trimmers, etc.), and more.
Settings Important To Oswego Players’ Shows
As the end of the Oswego Players’ very successful 75th Anniversary Season draws near, it seems appropriate to give credit to those who work so hard behind the scenes to support the work of the director and actors in a show. These are the people who never get a rest. As soon as one show hits the boards, they are working on the set design and implementation for the next one.
Two from SUNY Oswego named Student Fellows for big-data project
Two SUNY Oswego students will join six others from across the State University system as Student Fellows to work over the next year helping shape the 64-campus system’s use of big data, SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher announced Oct. 29.
Masons Plan Annual Massive Book Sale
The Lake City Masonic Lodge No. 127 will sponsor its third Annual Massive Book Sale November 21 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., November 22 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., November 23 9 a.m. – 3.p.m at the large majestic hall located at 765 E. Seneca St., Oswego.
Reading and Halloween Combined at KPS
Halloween came early at the Kingsford Park Elementary School as the annual “Spooktacular” was held. Students donned their Halloween costumes and spent an evening trekking throughout the building enjoying books.
