The Oswego County Department of Social Services will sponsor an informational meeting from 2 to 4 p.m. May 6, at the Department of Social Services, 100 Spring St., Mexico, for people who are interested in becoming foster or adoptive parents. Oswego County also needs Hispanic foster parents.
Port City Roller Derby aims for a meaty fundraiser when it hosts a chicken and pulled pork barbecue from noon to 6 p.m. May 11, at sponsor Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego. Dinners of chicken or pork cost $8 apiece and also will feature sides and a dessert. The event will include a homemade bake sale and a variety of raffles for prizes.
