UPDATE: Tentative cause said to be heat generated from a torch or similar device while contractors were performing work on the front porch roof earlier in the evening.
There were no injuries reported in the fire late Monday at 85 E. Utica St., according to Jeff McCrobie, fire chief. The fire was noticed by one of the occupants of the home and reported at 10:49 p.m.

The Oswego Lions Club will host the second annual River’s Edge “handmade” Craft Show on June 9. The event will take place on West Liner Park, right on the river’s edge, in Oswego. Hours for the show will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
At the recent Common Council meeting, it was announced that Senator Patty Ritchie was able to obtain $200,000 to put towards the Lake Neatahwanta cleanup effort. The money will be split evenly between the city of Fulton and town of Granby. Once the lake is clean, the goal is for families to use it again.
The Oswego County Health Department holds a rabies clinic for dogs, cats and pet ferrets from 6 to 8 p.m. May 8 at the Oswego County Highway Garage on county Route 2A in Pulaski. New York State law requires that all dogs, cats and pet ferrets be vaccinated against rabies.
