Dr. Ashraf Attia, professor in the SUNY Oswego School of Business, will use his recent research and experiences in Egypt to present a keynote talk about the Arab Spring at the college’s annual Quest symposium on April 17.
The magical world of Mother Goose was brought to life during the Fulton City School District Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program’s recent Family Literacy Night. Held at the Fulton Education Center, current UPK students and their family members enjoyed an evening of literacy-infused activities related to some of Mother Goose’s most popular nursery rhymes.
Makayla Walker, of Oswego, was diagnosed last fall with an abdominal desmoid tumor. It is so aggressive it is classified as a cancer. A grassroots effort has resulted in a fundraiser set for the American Legion with “tons and tons of raffles.”
Asbestos abatement will be conducted during the spring break at the
Oswego High School. Continuing work at the school is part of the project to improve the restroom facilities. By the time the students return the restrooms that have been renovated on the south side of the building should be ready for use.
Mary Bzdula, 81, of Fulton, passed away Wednesday March 27, 2013, at Michaud Residential Health Services in Fulton.
Richard E. Blake, 72, of Hannibal, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 27, 2013, at his home.
Theresa Sugar Scanlon and Laurie Sugar-Compson of Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home in Oswego and Sugar Funeral Home in Fulton, shared lunch with their mother, Mary, at the United Way’s Annual Stone Soup Luncheon. The funeral homes sponsored lunch for the residents of Fulton Mill Apartments and provided bus transportation for them.
