Cub Scout Pack 809 is planning a pancake breakfast; a fundraiser for the pack. The breakfast will be held on November 10 from 8 – 11:30 a.m. at the Oswego Elks Lodge, 135 W. Fifth St. The menu will consist of pancakes, French toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, orange juice and coffee.
The Kingsford Park Elementary School Student Council has been working diligently to collect warm blankets, sheets, towels and warm apparel to donate to Human Concerns. The effort has been a success and recently many KPS Student Council members gathered to display just a few of the many items.
At a recent Fulton Noon Rotary Club meeting, Rotarian Charrise Kidd introduced Rev. Tammy Nipper from North Volney Methodist Church. Rev. Nipper talked about how her church has become involved in “Dress a Girl Around the World” which is a program that makes dresses for girls out of pillowcases.

The Salmon River International Sportfishing Museum recently honored two long-time volunteers at an open house celebrating the museum’s tenth anniversary. Board president Mike Riordan presented plaques to treasurer Margaret Clerkin of Sandy Creek and curator Fred Betts of Phoenix for their tenacity and dedication in bringing the museum building to fruition.
According to unofficial vote results from Tuesday night show trouble for four legislators. Republican Louella LeClair has come up short in her bid for a new term. And, Doug Malone, the long-time representative of Oswego Town, is also on the short end of vote. Absentee votes will likely decide Malone’s fate next week.
The SCCS varsity cheerleaders have had a very successful fall season. The team placed first at the Northern New York Falltastic Competition beating out Watertown and Chittenango on October 19.
