Sandy Creek High School Seniors Molly Horth and Hannah Walker have been selected for participation in the New York School Music Association’s (NYSSMA) All-State Conference in early December in Rochester. Horth will be participating in the chorus portion while Walker will be representing Sandy Creek in the band division.
Thirty-three students in five sports including girls varsity soccer, boys varsity soccer, varsity cross country, varsity cheerleading and varsity football were announced and then escorted to the center of the field by their parent(s).
Richard J. Branshaw Jr., 55, a resident of East Fifth Street, passed away on Tuesday November 5, 2013, at Oswego Hospital after a short illness.
Kathleen L. Rainville, 65, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Saturday October 26, 2013, at her home.
Anna V. Cutuli, 99, of Fulton, died Monday November 4, 2013, in St. Luke Health Services, Oswego.
The Fairgrieve Elementary School Harvest Festival celebrates nature, the changing season, fall activities and interests, and of course the bountiful harvest that farmers and growers reap during this season. The annual Harvest Festival is held each year on October 31 at the school.
At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Donna Kestner, left, introduced Mary Ann Reitano, a cousin of Greg Harris, for whom the Military Courtesy Room at Hancock International Airport is named. Harris is one of 1,700 unaccounted for MIAs from the Vietnam War.
From friends and family to good food and gifts, for many people, the holidays are the happiest time of the year. However, for our brave troops serving overseas, they can be the loneliest. In an effort to send a “touch of home” to our troops, I’m once again calling on Central and Northern New Yorkers to participate in my “Holiday Mail for Heroes” program.
