Assemblyman Will Barclay announced that New York is now third in the nation in milk production, surpassing Idaho. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, New York milk production has grown for four years, after experiencing a dip in production.

Bishop Robert J. Cunningham paid a visit Thursday to Oswego County’s only Catholic school. The children asked the bishop all sorts of questions, including “What’s it like being the bishop?” At the end of his visit, the bishop enjoyed an ice cream sundae with the youngsters. The Diocese of Syracuse is comprised of 22 schools in its seven-county area with more than 5,000 students Pre-K-12.

The Mayor’s Office has announced that J.J. Lane, the contractor for the on-going Combined Sewer Separation Project, has provided the following road closure/detour details for February 3. The road closure/detour will go into effect at 7 a.m. on February 3 and as part of the Consent Decree Project, J. J. Lane will be crossing the intersection of West Fifth Street and Ellen Street.
