After 13 years of school, it took about 28 minutes Saturday to turn the OHS Class of 2014 into freshly minted graduates. At 10:47 a.m., diplomas were received by the first batch of students. The clock above center ice clicked to 11:11 a.m. as Meggie Zhang accepted the final diploma.
James “Jim” “The Shadow” “Tick” Utick, 82, of Fulton, passed away peacefully Saturday June 28, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse.

For its traditional fourth Friday in June Strawberry Festival celebration, Phoenix residents flocked to the village’s downtown and Henley Park to enjoy the festivities and the fireworks finale.
The Great Wall of China is not a continuous wall, but a number of sections built over a long period of time. If all the sections are included in the length it would span about 13,600 miles. There are conflicting reports on whether or not the wall was seen from the Moon with most people saying it was not. The wall, while massive, is a long thin line. We visited the Great Wall on our first trip in the 1990s. On our recent visit to Beijing John and I decided to visit a different section of the wall.
The Migrant Education Tutorial and Support Services Program at Oswego County BOCES recently held its annual graduation and recognition ceremony. Each of the three graduating seniors from the program received a scholarship award on behalf of the Weston T. Hyde Foundation, which was presented by former Fulton City School District Superintendent Michael Egan.
