CNY Arts Center is planning yarn fun on Wednesdays at its downtown gallery, 47 S. First St. The community is invited to stop in the gallery anytime between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. for knitting and crocheting sessions with Anita Vibbert.

Falsifying Business Records – class A misdemeanor
Making a Punishable False Written Statement – class A misdemeanor
Holly Johnson, 41, of Ellen Street, Oswego, passed away Wednesday July 9, 2014, at Oswego Hospital.
The following items were stolen from the business, a Timberwolf Pro-MP wood processor and a Timberwolf TW-3 HD-36 wood splitter. The suspect vehicle was captured on security camera and is described as a dark pickup truck, with no tailgate and with a tool box in the back.
Two photo collages containing a total of 25 photos of Jim Shampine from his earliest years through his racing career are going to be raffled off to benefit Families Fighting Flu. Jim’s grandson, Joseph Marotta IV, died of the H1N1 flu in 2009. This coming Saturday they will at Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego starting at 10 a.m. for the Oldtimers Reunion and will then be moved to Oswego Speedway.
Raffle tickets are $10 and will be available at both Lighthouse Lanes and Oswego Speedway while the collages are on display.
The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Weight Room and Fitness Center, located at the APW Junior/Senior High School will be open to the public starting this summer. Hours of operation are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6. to 8 p.m.
Austin Robert Lyke Jr., infant son of Austin R. Lyke, Sr. and Beverly Rowe, died on Tuesday July 8, 2014, in Oswego Hospital.
Certified Nurse Midwife Michelle P. LeFort has joined the staff of Oswego Hospital’s maternity center and the local practice, Oswego County OB-GYN. LeFort holds a master’s degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., where she majored in nurse-midwifery.
Recent budget cuts have eliminated anti-drug counseling in many local schools and the lack of programs, especially for young people, was one of the top issues identified at Senator Ritchie’s Heroin and Opioid Abuse Forum, which took place in Watertown in May.
