The Oswego Buccaneer Boosters has planned its biggest and most exciting “BucFest” yet, to celebrate Homecoming 2014 and kickoff the Buccaneers’ varsity home football game against East Syracuse Minoa High School. “BucFest” is planned for October 4, from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., at the end of Joe Wilber Field (rain location OHS gyms).

The Fulton City School District is launching a series of events throughout the school year that aim to boost parent engagement in their child’s education. Through these partnerships, the Family Academy will stress the importance of family involvement in student achievement and ensure that parents are well-equipped to help their children succeed academically and in other ways as well.
The Port City had no local law dealing with the blight of vacant buildings, until Monday. The council voted unanimously to approve the amendment to the Code of the City of Oswego, Chapter 85, Buildings, Vacant. The amendment addresses vacant buildings. Buildings that are not being occupied, are unsecured and basically abandoned, explained Connie Cosemento, chair of the Quality of Life Committee.
Stewart Rappleye, 96, of Oswego, passed away Tuesday evening September 23, 2014, at Seneca Hill Manor.
With a successful robotics program in place at Fulton’s G. Ray Bodley High School, the district is looking to spark an interest in technology among the younger students, thanks to a new robotics course at Fulton Junior High School. The class will span the entire school year and is part of Gateway to Technology, a nationwide feeder program for Project Lead the Way.
Rachael Scott, the first person killed in the Columbine massacre, believed that one person could make a difference in the world by a simple act of kindness. Rachael also believed that a simple act of kindness could start a positive chain reaction throughout a community.
