SUNY Oswego sponsors national journal of undergraduate research

SUNY Oswego has taken over as host campus of the American Journal of Undergraduate Research, a peer-reviewed, open-source publication for student scholarly and creative work in a wide variety of fields. Chemistry department faculty member Kestutis Bendinskas, a subject editor with the journal for eight years, rose to editor, succeeding the late Cliff Chancey of the University of Northern Iowa, who established the journal in 2002.

Tailwater Lodge Partners with Stash Hotel Rewards

Tailwater Lodge, located on the banks of the Salmon River, today (Sept. 22) announced a partnership with Stash Hotel Rewards, the nation’s largest point-based rewards program for independent hotels. Joining Syracuse properties, Hotel Skyler, Genesee Grande Hotel and Parkview Hotel, Tailwater Lodge becomes the fourth hotel in The Woodbine Group portfolio to partner with Stash.

Attendance was no issue at the Fulton City School District’s Attendance Awareness Celebration on Sept. 14, in honor of Attendance Awareness Month. A multitude of children and families attended the event. Local organizations such as ARISE and the Oswego County Health Department set up interactive booths for the children.

Hannibal Central School District’s Dennis M. Kenney Middle School open house Thursday proved to be a success, as students, parents and teachers gathered to discuss the coming year. With approximately 450 students enrolled at DMK, the event was well attended, something Principal Dee Froio noted as being “incredibly important.”

‘Health Benefit Coverage in NYS – The Post Healthcare Reform Market’ to be Presented at October WNET Meeting

Since the passing and implementation of the Affordable Care Act, the health benefits market place in New York has changed. There are more options to purchase coverage, as well as several more rules. Brooks Wright, KBM Management, will help us sort out these options at the next Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training’s monthly breakfast meeting on October 2 at 8 a.m. at the SUNY Oswego Phoenix Center.
