Court Gives DA Opportunity To Be Heard On Thibodeau Motion

Today (Sept. 18), the Hon. Daniel King, Acting Oswego County Court Judge, issued a scheduling letter permitting the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office to file a full and complete response to the CPL 440.30 motion filed by Gary Thibodeau on or before October 10, 2014. The court is permitting the People to respond to both the original motion filed by Thibodeau’s attorneys on July 30, 2014, as well as the Supplemental Affirmations filed on August 26, 2014.

‘Magical moments’ of Cortázar to come alive in dramatic performance

Actor and director Milton Loayza of SUNY Oswego’s modern languages and literatures faculty will join forces with video/lighting designer Barry Steele to bring to life the stories of influential Argentine writer Julio Cortázar in a performance at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 30, in the Sheldon Hall ballroom. In “Don’t Blame Anyone” — the presentation shares the title of one of Cortázar’s short stories — Loayza and Steele will work together to show the audience Cortázar tales that Time Magazine says “can induce the kind of chilling unease that strikes like a sound in the night.”

Evergreen Hills Golf Course Hosts Golf Clinic for ARISE Participants

Participants in ARISE programs as well as Oswego County ARC and Oswego County Opportunities had the terrific opportunity to participate in a two-day golf clinic hosted by John Hayes and the Evergreen Hills Golf Course. Oswego Fire Chief Jeff McCrobie served as a volunteer instructor and worked with participants on proper golf etiquette and form.

Pat Lavery’s Double Deuce Racing Supermodified, which finished second in the 58th running of the Budweiser International Classic 200 at Oswego Speedway, will be on display Saturday, September 20 at Performance Harley-Davidson, located on North Geddes Street in Syracuse. The display will be a part of Performance Harley-Davidson’s Fall Open House celebration, beginning at noon.
