The Holiday Inn Resort recently finished a complete remodel and has three pools and of the longest beach of any Aruban hotel. John and I had driven along the south coast of Aruba but once we left the main road the highway markings were few and far between plus many roads on the wild, barren north coast are unpaved so we took a tour with jeep ABC Tours. One of the benefits of a tour, besides taking people to the significant sites, is that the guides are knowledgeable. Our driver/guide, Rocky, was great.
The instructor, Kathy Fenlon, will demonstrate how to make three different styles of a zippered pouch and three different easy ways to put in a zipper. Once students learn the zipper installation techniques, they can use these skills with many different projects!
THIS JUST IN: At approximately 12:40 p.m., a 2002 Dodge Durango was traveling westbound on County Route 2 when 6-year-old Amish boy, identified as Jonathan L. Swartzentruber, entered the roadway after his hat was blown off his head from a wind gust. The driver attempted to take evasive action but is unable to avoid striking the boy.

The Oswego City Fire Department announces the retirement of First Assistant Fire Chief Donald T. Dowd II. Dowd was appointed as a firefighter on June 19, 1989, by Mayor John T. Sullivan Jr. He rose quickly through the officer ranks and was appointed Lieutenant on June 23, 1996 and Captain on December 2, 2007.
Michele Crisafulli-Becker was hired as a personal lines account manager at Eastern Shore Associates Insurance. She will be in ESA’s Fulton office.
Dennis P. Feeney, 59, a resident of Oswego and formerly of Washington D.C., passed away after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer on Wednesday January 7, 2015, at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, surrounded by his family.
