Joan Terranova, 93, of Fulton, died Wednesday January 7, 2015, at Oswego Hospital, Oswego.

The first stop for the Great Shipwrecks of NY’s Great Lakes traveling exhibit is in Oswego, at the Tyler Art Gallery in Penfield Hall Library at SUNY Oswego. The exhibit developed for the 2014 Great New York State Fair and updated for this installation will be on display through January 22.
The Pro Race Cars Mod Lite class at Brewerton and Fulton speedway will return to a single class after running as a split class in 2014. As announced at the beginning of last year, the class will be governed in full by TUSA rules including the “Package A” engine rules that allow for only ‘Stock’ and ‘Spec’ engines to be used in competition.

A motion to request that New York State County Law 308 be amended to authorize a wireless surcharge within the county of Oswego generated a lot of debate before finally being approved mostly along part lines. Funds from the $0.30 per month fee would greatly help the E-911 Center continue to improve its services to county residents and would treat persons with only a cell number as equitably as those with only a land line, the resolution said.
