Players To Stage ‘The Last Five Years’

The two-person musical, “The Last Five Years,” will be the August offering of the Oswego Players. Following on the enormous success of “Guys and Dolls,” the Players are presenting the Jason Robert Brown musical under the direction of Richard Mosher. It will be staged Aug. 21, 22, 28 and 29 at 8 p.m. and Aug. 30 at 2 p.m.

Oswego County ATV Club Hosts Veterans From Across US

The Oswego County ATV Club recently hosted more than 300 military veterans and their guests for its inaugural “Ride for Veterans.” The event honored wounded domestic and foreign war veterans for their service to our country. The group left the Tailwater Lodge in Altmar and enjoyed a scenic 14-mile ride along Barclay Trail to Kasoag Lake before they returned to the group’s clubhouse in Altmar for a luncheon.

Reality Check To Hold Teen Leadership Training

Reality Check and Youth 4 Youth will hold a teen Leadership Training August 25, from 10 a.m. – 3: 30 p.m. at the Fulton Community room. Teens 13-18 years old, living in Cayuga, Onondaga and Oswego counties who are interested in learning critical leadership skills such as public speaking and managing a group, are encouraged to attend. The training starts at 10 a.m., is free and both snacks and lunch will be provided.

The H. Lee White Maritime Museum presents a lecture by Oswego County Historian, Justin White, on August 29 at 1:30 p.m. He will be the third speaker in the museum’s 2015 History Lecture Series. White will be speaking on Theodore Irwin, a millionaire industrialist and leading businessman in 19th century Oswego whose personal fortune allowed him to amass a world class private library of rare books.

Aerial Spraying of Toad Harbor Area is Completed

Aerial spraying of portions of the towns of Hastings, West Monroe and Constantia was completed between 6:30 and 8:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16. Oswego County contracted with Duflo Spray-Chemical Inc. from Lowville to conduct the aerial spraying of about 10,000 acres of the Toad Harbor / Big Bay Swamp near the north shore of Oneida Lake.
