Acclaimed Poet’s Latest Work Inspired By 4,000-Year-Old Epic

A character from one of humankind’s earliest great works of literature has a new life as the hero of an epic poem by Lewis Turco, emeritus professor of English and creative writing at SUNY Oswego. “The Hero Enkidu: An Epic” was published this summer by Bordighera Press. One reviewer described the 100-page poem, as a 21st century A.D. takeoff on the 21st century B.C. “Gilgamesh,” an epic poem about a king in ancient Mesopotamia.

College Adds Master’s Program In Graphic Design, Digital Media

The college continues to offer a master of arts degree in art, with the option for study in other studio art areas, such as painting, sculpture and printmaking. The new degree makes it “more transparent” for candidates interested in gaining specific skills in the growing graphic design fields impacted by digital media, according to Cynthia Clabough, chair of the art department.

There’s Wrong and Then There Is WRONG

Legislator Weatherup makes a statement that I was wrong in my letter about the Fulton sales tax allotment discussion meeting with the Finance and Personnel Committee. In a past committee meeting Legislator Weatherup has said, “Why do we have to keep talking about something three or four times.” Again, I will say that having a degree in education I learned that repeating a lesson over and over again is the best way to ensure even the most challenging learner will finally understand the lesson.
