Oswego Lights Up For The Holidays

The Port City officially lit up for the holidays on Saturday. Hundreds of people throughout the day enjoyed Light Up, Oswego! The community wide all-day event, welcomed the holiday season in Oswego at myriad locations. Santa greeted hundreds of youngsters at the Lake Ontario Conference Center and hundreds more in City Hall during the afternoon, prior to the tree lighting, this year.

Garage Damaged By Fire

UPDATE: The probable cause of the garage fire on November 28 at 128 Erie St. in the city of Oswego appears to be combustibles stored too close to a wood stove, according to Chief McCrobie.
At 4:57 a.m. today (November 28), the Oswego Fire Department responded to a reported garage fire at 128 Erie St. First arriving units minutes later reported a detached garage at that address fully involved with heavy smoke and fire. No injuries were reported.

I have always been intrigued by rivers. The Hudson, Mohawk, and St. Lawrence Rivers made NYS the Empire State. The waterways were used by the Native Americans, explorers, armies, and settlers. Not only was it a key to the development of New York State but to the expansion of the United States; and, it still is. Traveling the length of the New York State’s waterways was at the top of my bucket list.
