Barbara Blake recently celebrated her 91st birthday as part of the monthly birthday party at Morningstar Residential Care Center.
Dick Drosse, of the Friends of Great Bear organization, spoke to the Fulton Noon Rotary Club at a recent meeting. The Great Bear Recreation Area is composed of 432 acres of nature and trails about four miles south of Fulton.

The Oswego Fire Department battled a difficult structure fire Thursday evening (Jan. 28) in an apartment house at 194 W. Fifth St. A firefighter suffered a minor injury at the fire, and was checked and released. No civilian injuries were reported.
Paul Peter Zarnowski, 84, of Conifer Drive, Baldwinsville, NY, passed away at home on Tuesday January 26, 2016.

This scholarship was established after the untimely death of Thomas G. Cantine Jr., who was an active amateur radio operator for more than 50 years. This scholarship has been set up in his memory and his passion for amateur radio.
January is National Mentoring Month and the Fulton City School District has many mentoring programs to acknowledge during this time of recognition. Geri Geitner, Director of Student Support Services for Fulton City School District brought forth these programs for recognition at Tuesday’s (Jan 26) board of education meeting.
For 2015, the project provided food and toys for 56 families (195 people, including 80 children) and small remembrances delivered to 90 senior (80 years and older) “Scriba Treasures.”
