Mexico Man Charged With Vehicular Manslaughter

On Tuesday, Douglas B. Horton, 51, of Mexico, was arrested for Vehicular Manslaughter, 1st degree, a class C felony and Aggravated DWI. The arrest follows the investigation into a one-vehicle MVA that occurred on March 26, 2016 on Rowe Road in the town of Mexico which resulted in a fatality to one of the passengers.

The American Council on Education has named Dr. Kristen Eichhorn, professor of communication studies at SUNY Oswego and faculty fellow in the college’s President’s Office, as an ACE Fellow for academic year 2016-17. Eichhorn is one of 33 fellows, nominated by the senior administration of their institutions, who were selected this year following a rigorous application process.

‘Space Pirates’ Prepare To Board SUNY Oswego Stage

The SUNY Oswego theater and music departments’ spring musical “Space Pirates of Planet Penzance” will open at 7:30 p.m. Friday [April 22] in Hewitt ballroom, featuring the talents of such actors as Caren Celine Morris, who plays the communication officer in the futuristic adaptation of the Gilbert and Sullivan comic opera “Pirates of Penzance.”

Mozart Work To Highlight Free Concert Of Chorus, Orchestra

The orchestra, under the direction of SUNY Oswego music faculty member Juan La Manna, will offer pieces by contemporary composers Mike McFerron and Astor Piazzolla, then join the chorus for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Ave Verum Corpus, K. 618” and “Mass No. 15 in C Major, K. 317,” nicknamed the Coronation Mass. Mihoko Tsutsumi, director of choral activities for the college, conducts the Festival Chorus.
