The United Way of Greater Oswego County announced that it is in the planning stages for the distribution of $66,437 in funding that it has received from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The funding, which can be used for food, rent assistance and utility assistance, is available to 501©3, not-for-profit agencies offering human services programs.
A huge Memorial Weekend of racing action in the Port City will begin on Friday night with the third round of Oswego Kartway’s championship season taking the green flag at 7:30 p.m. Last week another 120 plus entries took on the Bullring, for another near record crowd.

The evening began with delightful songs performed by the Middle School Chorus, opening with the traditional “Cantate Canon,” before performing the pop song “True Colors,” which featured soloists Emily Ward and Aden Goodnough.
On June 5 from 2-4 p.m., the CNY Arts Center will be hosting its quarterly Authors Spotlight series which features local authors. The event will feature suspense novelist Stan Wilczek Jr. alongside with mystery author Frankie Y. Bailey.
To date Senator Ritchie’s free tire recycling events, which are made possible through special funding she secured, have been successful in recycling to nearly 60,000 waste tires throughout Central and Northern New York since 2013.
