The third annual fabric sale fundraiser is being held to support the Oswego County 4-H Program, part of Cornell Cooperative Extension. This sale will be held on a new date this year, but in the same location: July 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Believer’s Chapel, 5375 State Route 3, Mexico.

Pvt. Andy Carter from Pulaski completed the Army’s rigorous basic combat training and advanced individual training, culminating with a ceremony held June 5 at the Thompson Road Armory in Syracuse.

In community spirit, 34 volunteers, used their knowledge and talent to decorate the town park, turning trash cans into treasure. The students community spirit is much appreciated by the Town of Minetto and all who enjoy the beautiful park on the Oswego River.

The program is designed for children who were born between Dec. 2, 2011, and Dec. 1, 2012, and is offered at no cost. There are currently openings at Riley, Kingsford, and Fitzhugh schools.

Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and cherries are all available locally and many farms have U-Pick options, where you can get out in the field or orchard and pick your own.

Director of Oswego Festivals, Peter Myles, was a guest at Oswego Rotary recently. He gave a presentation on the history of Harborfest and a rundown of this year’s performers, park activities and need for volunteers.

The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.
