Pratt House Kicks Off Summer with Tailgate Theme Porch Party

One of Fulton’s main sources of history preservation has kicked off the summer with members and guests enjoying music, fun and plenty of food at the annual Pratt House Porch Party. Friends of History, a fully volunteer run organization that formed more than 35 years ago has worked tirelessly to maintain and preserve the history of Fulton in one of the city’s original homes located at 177 S. First St. Each year, the Friends of History organizes multiple events for members of the group as well as for the public that run throughout the course of the year, and each year it all kicks off with the annual Porch Party in June.

Redhawks Honored at Senior Athletic Awards Ceremony

Central Square Redhawks were honored at a Senior Athletic Awards Banquet held at Paul V. Moore High School on June 2. Section III Scholar Athlete Awards were given to Brianna Grimes and Stan Kubis for showing outstanding qualities of scholarship and athletic excellence. Grimes will graduate valedictorian of the class and Kubis will rank fourth.

Community Leaders Tour County

The 2016 class of Leadership Oswego County recently toured sites to learn more about the local programs, history and nature areas. The group began at the Richardson-Bates House Museum in Oswego where they heard a presentation from Oswego County Historian Justin White. They finished their tour at the Half-Shire Historical Society in Richland.
