The city of Oswego is currently developing a Waterfront Master Plan to help guide the future of Oswego’s waterfront. The public is invited to join the planning team for the first step in a community outreach process as it shares ideas from other great waterfronts and gather community feedback on what is working on the Oswego waterfront, what needs to be improved, and what the future of Oswego’s waterfront should look like.

SUNY Oswego hired Wayne Westervelt as the new chief communication officer for the college, President Deborah F. Stanley announced. “I am very pleased to welcome Wayne’s leadership in this important position,” Stanley said. “He is often recognized by his colleagues as a strong team builder, seasoned communicator and innovative professional.”

The Hannibal Central School District recently wrapped up its Summer Warrior Weeks, which provided hands-on learning, fun and friendship for students in the district. The new summer enrichment program took place in two separate week-long sessions in early August at Dennis M. Kenney Middle School.

The Fulton Sunrise Rotary welcomed its returning exchange student, Elizabeth Brown. She spent the past year in Germany.

Auditions will be held on Sept. 6 and 8 at 7 p.m. in the Frances Marion Brown Theater of the Oswego Civic Arts Center for a new play chronicling the lives of some of the refugees at the Fort Ontario Emergency Refugee Center.
