SUNY Oswego’s theater department will “take it to the streets,” performing a dance from the college’s fall adaptation of “The Wizard of Oz” at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22, at the moveable stage at Oswego Farmers’ Market on West First Street.
Jahleh Mohammadi, LMHC, of Oswego, earned the prestigious Registered Play Therapist credential conferred by the Association for Play Therapy, according to its CEO Kathryn Lebby. Mohammadi is a licensed mental health counselor.

Thousands of students returned to the classroom Thursday in the Oswego City School District. Most schools opened Thursday. The high school offered “Freshmen First Day” on Thursday. Grades 9-12 will officially kick off the new academic year on Friday.

Exelon’s fleet of 13 nuclear power plants ran at an average 96.9 percent capacity factor through June, July and August, despite hotter than average summer temperatures and more than 30 hot weather alerts from regional grid operators. Capacity factors are used throughout the nuclear industry to track operational performance and reliability.

U.S. Reps. John Katko (NY-24) and David Cicciline (RI-1) today (Sept. 8) announced bipartisan legislation that they have introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives to ban dangerous synthetic substances. The Dangerous Synthetic Drug Control Act addresses the recent surge in synthetic drug use by specifically banning 22 synthetic chemicals, including 11 used to create synthetic marijuana.
