Michael A. “Woody” Wood, 50, of Volney, passed away Saturday September 3, 2016.
This year’s investigation found substantial improvements over the environment and events witnessed last year, which was essentially an “open air drug market,” according to State Police. Oswego Kartway officials have announced they will continue racing into the fall months in 2016, opening for action this Friday, September 9 before coming back for the RJ Kart Sales Fall Frenzy Championships on September 24. This Friday’s action will follow the usual Kartway time schedule with pit gates opening at 4:30 p.m., the drivers meeting at 6:30 p.m., hot laps at 6:45 p.m., and racing at 7:30 p.m.
The Oswego County Health Department reported today that the EEE virus was found in three additional mosquito samples collected in the Toad Harbor Swamp. The new samples of infected mosquitoes were collected in the same vicinity of two samples that tested positive for EEE in late August. Due to these findings, the Oswego County Health Department is taking the necessary steps to conduct aerial spraying of 10,000 acres in and around the Toad Harbor Swamp.
