Mittens wishes that his name was not Mittens. He wishes it was “Dude.” But what can he do? He has been Mittens for the last 12 years, named after his big feet, not his coolness. He is part of the Boylston Sweet 16.

The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau is accepting applications for mini-grants for 2017. Not for profit community organizations can apply for up to $1,000 for activities for youth during hours when school is not in session.

The onus is on the “consumer,” according to the panel. If an article seems to be too good to be true, too crazy to be true than it probably isn’t true, they said.
State Police in Fulton arrested Patrick J. Quinn, 30, from 4230 Black Oak Circle in Liverpool, for Aggravated DWI and Reckless Driving, both unclassified misdemeanors. On Sunday, February 19, State Police were dispatched, by Oswego County 911, to Route 481 near the Onondaga County line for a reported gray Ford Fusion traveling northbound in the southbound lane.
Community members recently donated more than 240 bicycle helmets and money for additional helmet purchases in lieu of flowers to honor the late Billie Crandall Brady. Brady served as program coordinator of Integrated Community Planning’s Traffic Safety Board for more than 13 years.
Eagle Beverage supported Oswego Health’s breast cancer Navigation program through its recent PINKTOBERFEST initiative. The local beverage distributor sold 39 kegs of pink beer to establishments located in the Oswego, Auburn and Watertown areas, raising nearly $900 for the local breast cancer Navigation program.
The Oswego County Department of Social Services will host an informational meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. March 2, at the DSS office, 100 Spring St., Mexico, for people who are interested in becoming foster or adoptive parents.
The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau and the Oswego Kiwanis Club will sponsor a kids’ Paint and Pizza Night at 6 p.m. Feb. 24, at Bridie Manor, 1830 Bridie Square, Oswego. The $10 registration fee includes paint, wood, pizza, drinks and a cupcake donated by Cakes Galore.
