Missing person is located in Brooklyn
SUNY Oswego officials have reported that Natalie A. Smith, a VISTA member assigned to SUNY Oswego and reported missing since June 9, was located by New York State Police investigators Friday evening, June 16, in Brooklyn. Smith is well and, upon interviewing with state police investigators at the 72nd Precinct, has indicated her wishes to remain in Brooklyn.

Man Struck and Killed by Train in Liverpool
At approximately 1:07 p.m., sheriff’s deputies along with rescue personnel from the Liverpool Fire Department and AMR ambulance responded to the area of Vine Street and Commerce Boulevard after receiving a 911 call reporting that a man had been struck by a train.

L. Michael Treadwell, executive director of OOC, reported that in 2016, projects assisted by OOC and the County of Oswego IDA resulted in the creation or retention of 1,520 jobs with nearly $193 million in capital investment associated with 35 new, expanded or retained facilities.

City of Fulton, Fire Department Reach Contract Agreement, Avoid Arbitration
On the brink of heading to arbitration, the city of Fulton and the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 3063 representing the Fulton Fire Department have reached a contract agreement after years of failed negotiations. After the previous contract expired at the end of 2014, city officials and union representatives failed to agree on the conditions of a new three-year contract. Yesterday, (June 15) both parties approved a contract that closely resembles the most recent contract between the city and the CSEA.

There are few places where I go out of my way to revisit. Hocking Hills in the southeast part of Ohio near Logan is one of those places. About 10 years ago, John and I stayed at The Inn at Cedar Falls in the Hocking Hills area. We stayed in Dogwood Cabin nestled in the woods with two balconies that overlooked the forest. In the morning I wandered out to the top balcony with my coffee to see a deer watching me.

It is alleged that on June 3, at 11:15 p.m. multiple individuals were involved in a physical altercation in the area of West First Street near West Utica Street in the city of Oswego. Three arrests, so far, have been made in connection with the incident.
