Polka Method To Perform At Fulton Polish Fest
Polka Method will be live on stage at the Fulton Polish Home 12th annual Polish Fest on Sept. 16 from 3 to 7 p.m. Polka Method is a new band of youngsters whose ages range from 13 to 26 and this will be their first appearance in Central New York.
Oswego Students Return To The Classroom
Hundreds of students returned to the classroom Wednesday in the Oswego City School District. The high school offered “Freshman First Day” on Wednesday. Grades 10-12 will officially kick off the new academic year on Thursday. “I asked a student if he had a good day. He said, ‘No, I had a Great Day!’ He may not have realized it but he made my day feel that way too,” one principal said.
Nine Mile Point Unit 1 Shut Down
Nine Mile Point Unit 1 automatically shut down at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 6) when a component failed in the system that regulates water level during normal operation. Operators responded and all safety systems functioned as designed.

Oswego Welcomes 2017-18 School Year With ‘Freshman First’ Day At OHS
As the Oswego City School District opened its doors today (Sept. 6) for the 2017-18 school year, Oswego High School welcomed the newest members of its student population for the second annual “Freshman First” day. Designed to ease ninth grade Buccaneers into the rigors of high school, Freshman First day gives members of the Class of 2021 the campus of OHS to themselves one day before the rest of the students arrive.

Falling for Autumn Blossoms
Enjoy an autumn afternoon saunter with naturalist Pat Carney to meet and greet the “little people” of the forest floor and fields. Participants will wander along the center’s open spaces and trails, exploring and admiring Blue Sailors, Bouncing Bet, Lady’s Thumb, and other wildflowers whose common names and stories can be as colorful as their blossoms.
