An acclaimed pianist from South Africa will perform the next LaVeck Concert in Pulaski at 7:30 p.m., November 11. Tinus Botha of North-West University School of Music and Conservatory in Potchefstroom, South Africa, will perform a solo piano recital of pieces by Classical masters Schubert, Schumann, Mendelssohn and Chopin, as well as Alexander Scriabin’s Nocturne for the Left Hand Alone.

Both seventh grade and eighth grade students studied the culture around the Day of the Dead, where families in Mexico honor and remember on Nov. 1 children who have died and on Nov. 2 adults who died.
Oswego resident Brandon DeSantis recently won $5,000 as a member of Oswego County Federal Credit Union’s Lucky Savers program. Lucky Savers is a statewide savings program where participants are eligible for cash prize drawings every month, and $5,000 and $250 cash drawings every quarter, explained Bill Carhart, CEO.
