Katko Needs To Vote No On Tax Cuts For Wealthy

Rep. Katko needs to vote no on any version of the GOP tax cut giveaway to billionaires and corporations when it returns to the House of Representatives. Senate Republicans quickly rammed their tax bill through before full analysis and debate could take place. The bill is very unpopular with the public, including 13 million people who could lose healthcare and the millions more burdened by the ripple effect of increased insurance premiums.

Oswego State men’s ice hockey shuts out Brockport

The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team shutout Brockport, 3-0 on Saturday night to remain perfect at home this season. With the win, the Lakers improve to 6-1-1 on the season. Cameron Berry sent the puck through traffic past the Golden Eagle goalie, putting the Lakers on the scoreboard and sending the teddy bears flying for the annual Teddy Bear Toss. The Lakers collected 736 bears to donate.

I was so happy when I read that someone had purchased the Hotel Syracuse (our daughter had her wedding reception there years ago) and planned to restore it. And restore it they did. It is a member of Historic Hotels of America. If you haven’t been there you need to stop for a look-see. Like many of the luxury historic hotels, the entrance is designed so that from the street level it is necessary to walk up a short flight of stairs to get to the lobby.

Oswego State, Geneseo Skate To OT Tie

The No. 5/7 Oswego State Lakers tied nationally-ranked Geneseo 2-2 in overtime in a top-10 road battle on Friday night in the Ira S. Wilson Ice Arena. With the draw, Oswego remains undefeated in the SUNYAC at 3-0-1 and moves to 5-1-1 overall. The Knights are now 7-2-1 on the year and 5-1-1 in league action.

The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team defeated Cortland, 3-1, in NEWHL action at home on Friday night. With the victory, the Lakers move to 4-6-0 this season and 2-3-0 in conference play, while the Red Dragons fall to 2-5-2 overall and 1-5-1 in NEWHL matchups.
