Hunter Mountain, in the Catskills south of Albany, is usually thought of as a winter destination. And, basically it is, but when there is no snow there are still visitors. When John and I were there we took the chair lift to the top of the mountain for a panoramic view of the area. There is a short trail to a Rip Van Winkle Statue. While I was taking a picture of the statue, a group of teenagers who attended a Hasidic Boarding School stopped to ask what the statue was.

The all-male pageant featured freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors who sang, performed skits, did stand-up comedy and other routines to win the judges’ votes. Senior Dixon Ameele earned the title of Mr. Phoenix after outdueling his peers in the competition.

A partnership between Oswego County schools and the American Heart Association is helping promote physical activity and a healthy lifestyle all month long with activities that organizers described as a “Party in P.E.”

School Facilities Association To Award Scholarships In Oswego County

The Oswego County Chapter of the New York State School Facilities Association is seeking applicants for its annual scholarship awards. The association will award at least five $500 scholarships in 2018, depending on the number of qualified applications received.
