SUNY Oswego’s annual Honors Convocation will celebrate student academic achievement at 3 p.m. April 6, in the Marano Campus Center arena and convocation hall, with a keynote by 1985 graduate Kathy Bower, managing partner of Connecticut-based Gager Emerson law firm.
Oswego Rotary had the pleasure of hosting Kristin Earle Wise, from the Baldwinsville Rotary club and the Cystic Fibrosis organization. Wise discussed the upcoming Great Strides walk.
On March 24 from 10 a.m. – noon the Fulton Family YMCA will have a breakfast with the Easter Bunny event.
There will be pancakes, sausage, cereal, fruit and different juices. There will be crafts, coloring and a special guest appearance from the famous Easter Bunny.

Friends of Fort Ontario hosts a free program featuring the personal stories of officers and soldiers of the 444th Engineer Company, 479th Engineer Battalion, United States Army Reserve. The event will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, at the Francis Marion Brown Theatre, located on the grounds of Fort Ontario State Historic Site on East Fourth Street in Oswego.
AmeriCorps Week is an annual event which recognizes the people and programs who are dedicated to “Get Things Done.” AmeriCorps Week is celebrated this year from March 11-17. “This provides a local opportunity to acknowledge AmeriCorps members for their impact on our area and to thank community partners who make AmeriCorps possible,” said Christopher Metz, Oswego County AmeriCorps program coordinator.

Leigh “Lee” E. Pooler, 91, of Granby, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 8, 2018, resulting from injuries suffered from being struck by a motor vehicle at his home.
Marcia E. Owens, 76, of the town of Granby, (Fulton), passed away on Friday March 9, 2018, at University Hospital, Syracuse, NY.
