September is National Preparedness Month and staff at St. Luke Health Services, St. Francis Commons and Bishop’s Commons recently completed emergency and safety training exercises across their healthcare campus. Russell Phillips and Associates, a Rochester-based consulting firm with expertise in fire and disaster preparation and response provided the training.

DeWitt Murder-Robbery Suspect Arrested in Fulton

A Syracuse man who allegedly killed two Chili’s Restaurant workers during a robbery at the Shoppingtown Plaza, DeWitt, business on Saturday was reportedly captured and arrested early today in Fulton. William D. Wood Jr., 32, was arrested at about 1 a.m., according to a report by the DeWitt Police Department.

Launch It, SUNY Oswego’s student startup competition, is back for a second year, coordinated by the Enactus student entrepreneurial organization. Competitors will vie for a $1,000 first prize, which was captured last year by 2018 graduates Samantha Boyle and Madison St. Gelais for a proposed off-campus housing services app called Bunk.

Launch It Student Startup Competition Returns To SUNY Oswego

After a successful 2017 debut, SUNY Oswego’s Launch It student startup competition will reward outstanding ideas and plans in a competition spanning September to early November. The competition awards $1,000 to the winning team. The second-place team will earn $600, while the third-place squad will take home $400.
