FitzPatrick Nuclear Plant Refueling Outage Under Way

Operators removed Exelon Generation’s James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant from service early this morning (September 10), beginning a planned refueling and maintenance outage that brings more than 1,500 additional workers to the region. The refueling outage will help ensure the plant runs safely and provides consistent, reliable power to the region for another two-year operating cycle.

Gina Salerno Named New Granby Elementary Principal

Expanding on her Fulton City School District career, Gina Salerno was recently named the new Granby Elementary School principal. With more than 16 years of experience in the school district, Salerno first began her FCSD career teaching kindergarten at Lanigan Elementary School before she taught grades three, five and one.

Maritime Museum Announces Name That Boat Winner at State Fair

The H. Lee White Maritime Museum at Oswego announced Matthew Hoch of Marcellus as the winner of its Name That Boat contest at the 2018 Great New York State Fair. Hoch submitted the name ‘Either/Oar’ that was selected at random from 12 daily winning entries entered by Fair visitors at the Path Through Maritime History: NY Lighthouses and Life Saving exhibit.
