Assembly Democrats today blocked a Republican proposal to suspend state sales tax on gasoline and a variety of everyday purchases, a measure which would have helped New Yorkers manage persistent inflation. The “Inflation Relief & Consumer Assistance Plan” (A.1690, Barclay) was rejected by Democrats on the Ways and Means Committee, preventing the bill from advancing to the Assembly floor.

Oswego County/City Drug Task Force Arrest Four In Hannibal Drug Raid

On April 19, 2023, the Oswego City Drug Task Force, the Oswego City Special Response Team, and the Oswego County Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant on a residence in the Village of Hannibal. With nearly 3 out of 4 cardiac arrests outside of the hospital ocurring in homes, knowing how to perform CPR is critically important[1]. CPR, especially if performed immediately, could double or triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival[2]. That is why the American Heart Association, the worldwide leader in resuscitation science and education, and the Buffalo Bills are adding lifesavers to the chain of survival through training and education. A five-year, $1 million commitment by the Buffalo Bills is an organizational priority following the cardiac arrest incidents of both Buffalo Bills co-owner Kim Pegula last summer and safety Damar Hamlin during Monday Night Football on Jan. 2.

NYSDOT Staff To Collect And Dispose Of Trash In Region 3 In Honor Of Earth Week

New York State Department of Transportation today announced that in recognition of Earth Week, the Department will be taking part in a statewide “Trash Blitz” on Friday, April 21, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. to help protect the environment and beautify our local communities. Weather permitting, NYSDOT workers will join together to collect and dispose of litter along roads, highways and other locations across the state to show their commitment to making their home communities a better place to live and work.
