The Oswego County Legislature’s Health and Human Services Committee presented the first-place award in its annual best-tasting water contest to the village of Pulaski during the August Legislature meeting at the H. Douglas Barclay Courthouse.
Oswego County Workforce New York, operated by the Division of Employment and Training, will hold a “Choose Work” workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 12, to help Social Security Disability Insurance beneficiaries learn about work incentives and rules that will help them return to work.
The Oswego County Legislature’s Public Safety and Emergency Services Committee presented Mark Robbins with a certificate of appreciation for his 25 years of service.
Robbins is a building maintenance mechanic with the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department.
Coordinated by RASP Senior Youth Specialist, Jill Fratangelo, through collaboration with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County, the outing allowed the students to experience the sport of fly-fishing.
The County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning will sponsor three seminars for local planning and zoning officials Sept. 11, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Oswego High School auditorium, 2 Buccaneer Blvd.

On July 19 more than 80 people gathered at Breitbeck Park in Oswego for the Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County annual picnic and awards ceremony. The evening began with Diane Cooper-Currier, executive director of OCO, welcoming all attendees.
The SUNY Oswego Office of Business and Community Relations will launch the 20th year of its Leadership Oswego County program with a welcome reception for the class of 2013 on Sept. 12.
