The Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County received some much needed support recently for its upcoming 6th Annual “Blue Ribbon Ride†Against Child Abuse. Part of the CAC’s Blue Ribbon Campaign that focuses on awareness and prevention of child abuse in Oswego County, the ‘Blue Ribbon Ride’ is a 80 mile motorcycle ride that will wind throughout Oswego County.
You wouldn’t believe what they found under the sidewalk at Lanigan Elementary School. Workers tore up the sidewalk as part of the renovation work being done over the next two years in every district building. The ground below the sidewalk wasn’t solid enough to suit the builders, so they dug deeper.

Remember the area around the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Facility is off limits to boating. The restricted area stretches 1,000 yards offshore and extends from the Alcan plant to the Sunset Bay area along Lake Ontario, east of the city of Oswego.
Public Health Director Dr. Dennis Norfleet said the horse was exposed to the virus during the middle of July. The horse was humanely euthanized and a tissue specimen was submitted to the New York State Health Department’s Wadsworth Center lab for testing.
