OCO To Offer Free Mammograms During Breast Cancer Awareness Month

</p>The Radiology staffs at AMI in Fulton, A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital and Oswego Health are gearing up for "Mammography Days" throughout the month of October. OCO's Cancer Services Program is recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness month by offering free mammograms and breast exams for women who have limited or no health insurance on select dates throughout the month of October.  Pictured above from left are AMI staff members Paula Kieffer and Nancy Tyler.  For more information, or to make an appointment for a mammogram, you may contact OCO's Cancer Services Program Partnership of Oswego County at 592-7877, ext. 228.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, women with limited or no health insurance will have the opportunity to receive free mammograms and clinical breast exams throughout the month of October courtesy of Oswego County Opportunities’ Cancer Services Program Partnership of Oswego County.

They Came Back To BOCES

<p>Daryl Simmons, an Oswego County BOCES alumnus from the welding program, points out his 1984 class photo to his son, Colt, during the Come Back To BOCES alumni and community celebration. Upon graduating, Simmons pursued a career in welding and is now employed as a machinist and certified welder.</p>

Nearly 250 visitors stopped by the main BOCES campus in Mexico for the opportunity to visit classrooms, participate in hands-on activities and take a trip down memory lane viewing old photographs and newspaper clippings from earlier days.

Oswego Salvation Army To Welcome Steve Canale For Guest Chef Dinner

<p>Captain Corinne Hayes of the Oswego Salvation Army shows members of the Oswego Rotary Club what their serving aprons will look like at the upcoming Guest Chef dinner to be held Oct. 8. The Oswego Rotary Club will be the volunteer servers for the fundraising event. Steve Canale of The Press Box will be this month’s guest chef. Standing next to Capt. Hayes is Vern Tryon, Rotary board member and advisory board member of the Oswego Salvation Army; Seated from left are Shawn Seale, president of the Oswego Rotary; Ann Siefried, Rotarian; and Dr. David Granoff, president elect Oswego Rotary.</p>

The Oswego Salvation Army will welcome Steve Canale of The Press Box to its Guest Chef dinner to be held Oct. 8 from 4:30-6:30 p.m., according to Captain Corinne Hayes of the Oswego Chapter of the Salvation Army.

The rain that fell did not dampen the spirits of those who attended the annual Back to School Picnic at Parish Elementary School in the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown School District, although it may have lowered the turnout for the event.
